First day of SKIING!

Skiing time!  There were mixed emotions of fear, excitement and nervousness.  It was Ann's first time and Zoey's second time to ski.  Kevin and Lina had skied before and had some experience.  I told the kids there were three rules.  Rule #1 Listen to your instructor.  Rule #2 Always follow safety rules and don't ski alone.  Rule#3 Have lots of FUN!  In the morning, they went to ski classes.  After lunch, I skied with them for the afternoon and evening.  They did not want to stop so we came home late.  I think they must've been tired this morning so we had better come home a bit earlier next week :)  The weather was just perfect.  We had clear blue skies.  I told the kids to dress up warm and wear their long underwear and thick clothes because I worried of them being cold but instead they were hot!

First glimpse of our mountain!

Getting ready for class :)

Hey Zoey come here!

Quite high up...only a few tiny trees could survive the cold and wind

Look at the view!

Mt. Hood behind Ann

Mt. Jefferson in the distance

The three sisters next to Mt. Jefferson. This mountain is about 3 to 3.5 hours south.

Oops..Ann fell down

You can see the desert in the distance! It is yellow/brown and lacks trees.

Crescent Moon.

Sunset reflection on the moon so the moon color was pinkish orange..

Time for Hot Chocolate!

Skiing in the evening. Kevin was the best skier of the kids..

OOps down goes Zoey!

A bit blurry...but it is Kevin!

It has been a really busy week!  Grammy has been gone to Washington State.  So it has been me, 4 kids, 3 cats, one dog, 2 ducks, 2 goats to take care of.  And..English classes, basketball practices, basketball games and skiing...whew!  We've been working together at home as a team too.  I told them that there they can not play basketball if they don't get good grades at school and finish all of my English homework and library books.  Even though they are busy, the kids are learning to be responsible so I'm happy about that.
